We had a wonderful day in Vancouver – perfect weather - caught the hop-on hop-off bus to see all the sites, including the amazing Stanley Park located near the city.

After visiting Stanley Park we went back into the city to the old part of Vancouver, Gastown that has an unusual clock in the main street that blows out steam every quarter hour.

Our final port on the Oosterdam was Seattle – happy to be on land after 23 days at sea. We stayed at the Edgewater Hotel overlooking Elliott Bay (the Beatles had stayed there years ago – an old hotel but beautifully renovated). Peter’s cousin Brian and Anne were able to stay at the hotel too so we had a great day with them exploring the city - we checked out the Pike Place Markets – browsed the book, antique jewellery and clothing stalls and had a seafood chowder lunch overlooking the water.

We had a wonderful farewell dinner at the Seattle Space Needle revolving restaurant with Brian and Anne before they set off on their journey - driving across America to New York via the Grand Canyon!
